Pattaya - Popular Tourist Destination For Thailand Visitors

Pattaya is a beautiful city in Thailand, with a registered inner city population of just over 100,000. It's well within driving range of Bangkok (just 165km away) and is fast becoming a very popular tourist destination for Thailand visitors. That's not surprising, given its numerous sights and attractions.

Pattaya Addicts Forum Tourism has certainly already had a major impact on the city as more and more people from the Northeast of Thailand to work, and the city is also experiencing an influx of retirees who are attracted to Pattaya's warm climate, low costs of living and relaxed atmosphere.

Visitors from colder areas of the world almost always enjoy Pattaya's weather. Throughout the entire year, the city has average high temperatures of just over 30 degrees, and average minimum temperatures of around 25 degrees. That's just pleasantly warm and really nice to live in (you can, in fact, just wear shorts and a t-shirt the whole year round). The only thing that changes throughout the year is the rainfall, with September and October being by far the wettest months.

Pattaya's nice weather is best experienced lounging around on one of its beautiful beaches. Like many parts of Thailand, Pattaya is famous for having pretty white sand and palm tree beaches, which are never far from the city. Pattaya beach in fact runs parallel to the city and is lined up next to numerous nightclubs and restaurants. Another beach worth visiting is Jomtien beach which is always well populated on weekends. There are numerous activities on offer (such as parasailing and motorboating) and it's always a good place to take kids.

Speaking of kids and families, Pattaya has so many fantastic attractions that you can almost never get bored on a family holiday. From golfing to go-karts, to theme parks, zoos and museums, there is always something to do. If you are visiting, I would recommend staying a minimum of one week, although many visitors end up staying longer as they find themselves engulfed by the relaxed atmosphere and consistently pleasant weather. Retired couples will likely take an interest in the more historical sights of Pattaya, such as the Sanctuary of Truth and the Mini Siam. There really is something for everyone.

Before visiting Pattaya, it's worth taking a quick look at some of the events and festivals that will be taking place during your stay. Some of the more entertaining events are the Pattaya bed race, and the Pattaya bike week. The city also has a very active nightlife all throughout the year.
