Tower Bridge Chimney
Tower Bridge is often visited place by civilians and tourists but there are very few people who know about Tower Bridge Chimney. While walking on the Tower Bridge you have normally seen the lamp posts but have you marked about this little thicker lamp which has no light lamp. The story behind this Chimney is one type of small room under the bridge which originally was been used by the guards when on duty protecting the Tower of London and the room had coal fire and the smoke came out through this Chimney. By the name of this place you can get an idea about this bridge that it is a bending revolving bridge created by British designer Thomas Heatherewick. If you wish to see it then you can see it roll up to let boats pass under the bridge on Friday afternoon because during the whole week it’s looking like a regular footbridge and it remains horizontal and only opens on Friday noon and the reason behind the making of this bridge is that the movement and unexpected feature of the bridge. It won a number of awards including the Structural Steel Award, and an Emerging Architecture Award.
