The EU directive set out 85% scrap car Recycling
on end-of-life cars in the UK. It means 85% of a vehicle by weight must
be recycled when it comes to the end of its useful life.
When this is a solid start, there is still a little distance to go with car scrapping techniques. Just through recycling the metal only, the 85% target can be achieved.
